The creator and organiser of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Neasden, London, is BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS).
Revealed by Bhagwan Swaminarayan in the late 18th century and established in 1907 by Swami Yagnapurushdas (Shastriji Maharaj), BAPS is a worldwide community-based spiritual organisation with its beliefs firmly rooted in the Vedas. It is dedicated to fulfilling the spiritual, cultural, and social needs of people while promoting inner peace and harmony between individuals, within families, and amongst diverse communities.
Recognised and appreciated internationally for its humanitarian services and commitment to holistic social uplift, BAPS has received many national awards and is closely affiliated with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. Its reaches out to millions of individuals through its network of more than 3,300 centres, 800 sadhus, 55,000 volunteers and the dedication of over one million followers.
