History
of BAPS
The roots of BAPS in London can be traced to the early 1950s. It was the early post-war years when London was recovering from the aftermath of World War II. Indians were scarce and scattered, and amongst those rare few were the pioneers of BAPS in the UK. Presented here is a brief history of BAPS in London as gleaned from accounts and reports by devotees and Pramukh Swami Maharaj.

Activities
of BAPS
From
recycling millions of cans in London to recharging wells in rural
India; from campaigning against harmful addictions to providing
pure herbal medicines; from building and maintaining beautiful
permanent structures such as the famous Swaminarayan Hindu Mandir,
Neasden (London) to setting up large platforms for single-day
conventions; from organising cultural festivals attended by millions
to inspiring individuals to lead a morally pure life; from providing
free education in India to giving extensive career guidance, ...
BAPS believes that social change can come only if people join
in and contribute voluntary efforts towards removing society's
ills.
All of the activities
detailed in this site are but small examples of the vast contribution
the organisation is making in all spheres of life – moral, spiritual,
cultural, educational, environmental and social all over the world.

our Activities
As a socio-spiritual charitable organisation, BAPS is involved in numerous humanitarian services both locally and internationally, including projects for health, educational, environmental, moral, cultural and spiritual care. Through its dedicated volunteer force of more than 55,000 youths and over 800 sadhus, it offers approximately 12 million volunteer-hours every year in serving others. Together, these unsung heroes have helped de-addict over 600,000 people and continue to work quietly towards creating a society free from drugs, violence and crime.
